Hawzah News Agency- The event, held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, was organized by followers of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky in Tondome. The presence of Tijaniyyah followers provided an opportunity to strengthen communication and mutual understanding among Muslims of different perspectives. Speakers and participants stressed that differences in viewpoint should not obstruct the path of brotherhood and unity in the Islamic community.
'Respond to Your Brother's Call'
Sheikh Hassan Isa Tondome emphasized the necessity of strengthening ties among Muslims, describing responding to a Muslim brother's invitation, goodwill, and mutual advice as key factors in consolidating brotherly relations. He called on Muslims to avoid suspicion, harming one another, and behaviors that weaken bonds among believers, recalling the Quranic teaching that believers are brothers.
'Adhere to Islamic Teachings'
Professor Abdullah Tanladi Zaria stressed the need for Muslims to adhere to the teachings of Islam and to strive to realize religious principles in social life. Referring to Imam Khomeini's efforts to revive Islamic teachings, he emphasized the importance of steadfastness and commitment to religious beliefs.
'Differences Must Not Make Muslims Enemies'
Caliph Sheikh Ali Sheikh Saeedu Alti Funtua warned of the consequences of division and discord among Muslims, stressing the need to strengthen brotherly relations and seek unity-building solutions. He said differences in understanding and viewpoint should not turn Muslims into enemies of one another, calling on Muslims to make love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a factor in binding hearts and strengthening solidarity across the Islamic Ummah.
The religious scholar also emphasized Muslims' need for one another in the current circumstances, calling for a reduction in factors causing discrimination and division and an increase in dialogue, understanding, and cooperation among Muslims.
'Such Gatherings Bring Muslims Closer'
Sheikh Abdullah Khamis, representative of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky's followers in Tondome, expressed satisfaction with the presence of Tijaniyyah followers and other participants. He stressed the importance of holding such gatherings to bring Muslims closer together and to discuss issues related to the future of the Islamic community, praying for increased brotherhood and understanding among Muslims.
